Nottingham roller derby team, the Hellfire Harlots have announced a new sponsorship deal with skate shop, Derby Store UK.
The sponsorship deal marks a new chapter for the award-winning Nottingham-based sports team who have not only grown their membership to over 70 members but have also this year become full members of the Women?s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and played internationally.
Louisa Ellins, Head of PR commented, “This is great news for us as a sports team as sponsorship not only benefits our league, but our sport too as it proves we are serious sports women who mean business.
“Working with such a well-established and trusted brand means that the Hellfire Harlots not only benefit from Derby Store’s sponsorship, we will benefit from Derby Store?s extensive product and skating knowledge, particularly as they will be present at our home bouts in the future.”
Roller derby is a contact sport played on quad roller skates and is often described as the “fastest growing sport in the world”. The Nottingham Hellfire Harlots are currently ranked 25th in Europe after winning games against more highly ranked teams this year and the team are aiming to hit the top 10.
The Hellfire Harlots are due to play Dublin Roller Girls in Ireland on 6 September 2014 and details of their next bout in Nottingham are due to be released soon along with recruitment dates for new skaters.
