Skate To SKOD – What A Team!

When we decided to accept GO-GO Ghent Roller Girls’ invitation to A Skate Odyssey (y’know, that WFTDA tournament happening next week), we knew we’d have to do a bit of fundraising to help get our skaters and crew over to Belgium. We couldn’t have anticipated the amazing response we’ve had from the entire league, our friends, families and fans who have supported us over the last few weeks in our quest to raise £2,500.

We’ve been doing lots of fun things pulling together to raise the cash but the top earner and the thing that brought us all together was Skate to SKOD – a sponsored event where our members would attempt to skate the distance from Nottingham to Ghent in just three hours.

There were moments we wondered if we were going to pull it off, what if only four people showed up? How were we going to track all the laps? Did we even have the stamina to make it to the end?

Not only did everyone show up to support, we found a way to count the laps and yeah girl, we made it to the end, we smashed it!

We just wanted to take a moment to humbly thank everybody for their time, effort and money to help us achieve our goal to help the team get to A Skate Odyssey. We’ve been working hard but we’ve also been training hard to make sure that we come home to Nottingham proud of what we’ve achieved and hope that Nottingham is proud of us.

Here are a few pics and videos from the day we wanted to share with you all.
